RIDING LESSONS

We offer lessons for all ages and all levels of skill…from raw beginner to seasoned competitor. We also offer ride behinds for 1-10 years old or up to 110 lbs. for safety and/or expedited learning. Lessons are based on what you want to learn. Some people want to learn it all, which means you start with haltering the horse, leading it to the crossties and tying it up correctly. Then you learn about the fine art of grooming: Brushing, cleaning and proper hoof care. Then how to saddle, bridle, and get on your horse. Or perhaps you want to get on the horse and just ride. This means you show up, get on your horse and start your riding lesson. We are very flexible on our approach to lessons so each rider gets the most out of their riding experience.

AFTER SCHOOL HORSEMANSHIP

A program designed to run daily from after school until parent pick up, usually around 6 pm. The student is immersed in the care and feeding of the horses. They learn the skills of being a knowledgeable Horse Person, including haltering, leading, grooming, saddling, brideling and of course Riding. They also learn how to feed, water and clean stalls. They learn to blanket and un-blanket as well. They learn how to tell if the horse is sick, upset, happy or sad. They learn how to medicate and worm horses when necessary. They learn how to clean tack properly. Finally they learn to ride and are on the horse learning 3-4 times a week. This program has proven to be very successful. Please inquire about how we can help your child lead a happier more enjoyable, productive horse life. This is Horsemanship.
